Lamps!

These are 3 of the 5 lamps I've made so far this year. I apologize for the quality of the photographs in advance.

The Boxes are Glued

Well, here is the lampshade without a frame. There is a candle in the middle to show the texture of the paper. It is a little lumpy because there is no frame holding it together, but all the boxes are done and glued. I am so happy.

Final Paper

After sorting through a couple of sheets of nice paper at the art store, I finally decided on this beige sort of translucent paper with really nice texture. Here's a close up:

Preliminary Tests

I made these origami boxes with post-it notes from my desk, then I glued the flaps together and this is what came out:
